Responding to Incidents of Discrimination and Harassment In the Needham Public Schools

The Needham Public Schools are committed to providing equal educational opportunities and a safe learning environment for all students, faculty, and staff.  Our policy against all forms of discrimination and harassment is clear and can be found HERE (link to SC Policy AC)

The Needham Public Schools does not discriminate against students, parents, employees, or the general public based on race, color, sex, homeless status, gender identity, religion, national origin, sexual orientation disability, or age.  Discrimination or harassment by administrators, teachers, certified and support personnel, students, vendors and other individuals at school or at school sponsored events is unlawful and is strictly prohibited.

The Needham Public Schools has adopted Discrimination and Harassment Grievance Procedures found HERE and Title lX Sexual harassment Grievance Procedures found HERE.

How to make a complaint of Discrimination of Harassment (excluding sexual harassment)

Any student, employee or other individual who believes that he/she has been discriminated against or harassed should report their concern promptly to the school principal, or to the District's Civil Rights Coordinator.  If the school principal receives the report, he or she will notify the Civil Right's Coordinator of the Complaint.  Students, employees or other individuals who are unsure whether discrimination or harassment has occurred are encourages to discuss the situation with the school principal.  Discrimination/Harassment Incident Report can be found HERE.
