Kindergarten registration for the 2021/2022 school year opens after 1/4/2020
Welcome to Needham Public Schools. We have implemented a new online registration system to make the process smoother and easier for all involved. Whether you are new to the Needham Public Schools, re-enrolling in the district, or transitioning from a private school we look forward to working with you, your child, and your family to make the experience a successful one.
Please complete the following steps in order

Currently we are registering students remotely. All the following paperwork can be either emailed, faxed or shared with the registrar on Google Drive. When you are ready to schedule an appointment with our District Enrollment Office, simply go to step 3 to set up a virtual meeting. If you are unable to register remotely, please email Corine_Burke@needham.k12.ma.us to arrange a face to face meeting.
Registration Documents:
- Original birth certificate or passport
- Proof of Residency (Needham School District by Street List) Owners: real estate tax bill, or town water/sewer bill, or signed P&S. Renters: lease and utility bill.
- Submit a copy of the most recent physical examination with immunization record. Most pediatric physicals are acceptable even those from other states. Your child's physical does not need to be on a Massachusetts Health Record Form. For more information please read: Required Health Information
- Provide proof of grade level – report card or progress report (For students entering Grade 2 through 12 only)
- Copy of IEP or 504 Plan (if applicable)
- MCAS report if applicable (Massachusetts residents only)
- Custody papers (if relevant)

PLEASE NOTE: The Administration Building is not wheelchair accessible. Contact the office (781-455-0400 x11245) to make arrangements for an alternate and accessible location to register your child.
Step Four of Four:
Once registration is complete, please call the school designated at enrollment to receive new student information. If you have any health related questions or concerns regarding your child, please contact the school's nurse.
TRANSPORTATION:
All students requesting transportation must register for a bus pass. Below is a link to the Transportation Webpage that has instructions on how to apply for a pass. The Transportation Department located at 1330 Highland Ave. Needham.
