Transportation Health and Safety

The district continues to emphasize and prioritize the health and safety of all students and staff. These efforts will continue through the school year, and we will collaborate with families, staff, and public health professionals to ensure our school environments remain healthy.

Based on recent guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) for areas with low or medium community level risk of COVID-19, masks are no longer required on school buses.  Norfolk County is low risk at this time.  Effective March 7, 2022, Needham school buses will become ‘mask friendly.’  Windows still will be kept open at least 3 inches while transporting students and passengers, and ventilation systems will be set to high and to not recirculate conditioned air. Seats are no longer assigned, but cleaning and disinfecting will continue in the mornings and afternoons.

Students and families should continue to observe good hygiene practices, including hand washing, stay home if feeling poorly, and observe the District's COVID protocols.
